Alyssa is a recent Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) graduate of Western New England University. Her passion is working with the pediatrics and individuals with upper limb difference. She is also committed to expanding her knowledge in therapeutic recreation and advocating for these specific populations.
Alyssa's journey in pediatric care began during high school when she found fulfillment in supporting individuals with special needs. Her involvement in special education and participation in Special Olympics further ignited her passion for occupational therapy and caring for individuals with special needs. After graduating from high school, Alyssa pursued a degree in Movement Science at Westfield State University. She excelled in her studies and earned her Bachelor of Movement Science, specializing in Sports Medicine, with Cum Laude honors in 2018.
During her application process for graduate programs, Alyssa gained invaluable experience as an Occupational Therapy rehabilitation aide at Gaylord Specialty Healthcare for two years. This hands-on role equipped her with practical skills and knowledge, laying a solid foundation for her future career.
